Description

Course 4: Investigation Techniques

In Course 4 in our course series combines a number of topics. Each topic corresponds to a chapter in official BCS business analysis text book. We start with a brief recap on the Business Analysis Services Framework (BASF) which was first introduced in course 1.

We then examine  “Investigation Techniques”. This provides an insight into the key investigation techniques available to the business analyst in their quest for information relating to business requirements.

Whether the business analyst is investigating a situation for the first time, or progressing with subsequent project stages, information will be constantly sought. The techniques described in this course will be applied throughout the project during day to day analysis activities.

Finally we look at the activities and techniques concerned with Stakeholder analysis and management. The business analyst will engage with multiple stakeholders during a project. They will all have different concerns and needs and the BA should be aware of the available techniques in order to ensure that stakeholders are engaged and managed effectively during the project.
