Dedicated to building cultures of safety everywhere by inspiring the leaders of tomorrow

Calgary, Alberta, – November 21st, 2022 – The SiS (Safety in Schools) Foundation of Canada is honored to welcome Larry Masotti to the SiS Board of Directors. A Canadian Registered Safety Professional, with a master’s degree in Organizational Leadership, bachelor’s degrees in both Adult Education and the Arts, Larry also has over 25 years of health and safety experience.

Larry serves as the Vice President for Minerva Canada Safety Management Education, as an International Review Panelist for the National Safety Council’s R.W. Campbell Award, as Vice Chair for the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) Strategic Steering Committee for Occupational Health and Safety and as Chair of the Canadian Associations for Safe Hospitality. He is also a member of the Board of Governors for the Board of Canadian Registered Safety Professionals and serves on the Judging Panel for the prestigious Canada’s Safest Employer Awards.

“I am passionate about instilling a safety-first mindset at a young age to create a ubiquitous safety culture which is what SiS is all about, stated Larry. They have an impressive track record making their free safety training and education programs inclusive and accessible by delivering them on all devices in over 100 languages. Their newest program, SAHARA is a very exciting app technology that incorporates mental health and well-being in the workplace to establish the risk level. I want to be instrumental in expanding SiS across the country so that all young people have access to these highly innovative and effective programs.”

Kim Adolphe, SiS Chairman and Co-Founder added that, “The passion that drives Larry is evident in the organizations he chooses to be involved in at this chapter in his life. His dedication to safety is unmistakeable in the work that he has done and continues to do. We feel incredibly fortunate that he has chosen to join our SiS team. Our mission is to be in every Canadian High School so we can educate and empower young people to stay safe at school, work, home, and at play for life.”

About the SiS (Safety in Schools) Foundation of Canada

SiS is a non-profit foundation committed to educating and empowering young people to stay safe at school, work, home, and at play. From grassroots beginnings starting with one school and seven students, the SiS family has grown to over 360 schools – with over 150,000 Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) related mastered certificates. SiS offers over 70 free eLearning courses and the patent pending SAHARA app donated by the co-founding company, SWIFT Learning, in addition to custom courses developed in partnership with government and industry. SAHARA combines workplace hazards and psychological health to calculate risk levels, then links to relevant online training and resources. SAHARA can be customized for any environment to assess risk level. We have created SAHARA for Service Hospitality and Tourism, Welding, Energy, Resources, Industry, and Residential Fire Safety in partnership with the Calgary Fire Department. SiS is committed to reaching all young people across Canada with inclusive, accessible, and highly effective safety programs.
