Course 10. 11. 12.: Requirements Engineering
In this set of courses we present a framework for requirements engineering. Many projects have failed to achieve expected outcomes through poorly defined business requirements. It is essential that this core business analysis activity is carried out with the appropriate level of control and rigour.
The process of requirements engineering provides such a framework. The key stages of the process are:
- Elicitation
- Analysis
- Validation
- Documentation and management
We also consider the actors who contribute to the process, the project context for requirements engineering and each of the process stages.
We look at different approaches to systems modelling as a way to help visualize and clarify our understanding of requirements and how aspects of the solution will support the required data processing.
