Free Occupational Health, Safety, Mental Health and Lifestyle eLearning courses educates and helps to empower youth to live a safe, healthy, and active lifestyle
January 12th, 2021 – Calgary, AB – SWIFT Learning and Wood’s Homes announced their partnership today formalizing SWIFT Learning’s free educational support of multi-barriered clients at Wood’s Homes since 2014.
During this time over 500 students have logged in more than 800 times accessing a wide range of safety courses. This represents a retail value of over $25,000.00.
“We are thrilled to be able to help some of the clients at Wood’s Homes,” said Kim Adolphe, CEO of SWIFT Learning and a passionate supporter of safety awareness, mental well-being and supporting active lifestyle education for youth. “Our mission is to deliver eLearning courses and programs that remove barriers to education and training to help support leading a safe, healthy, happy, and productive life.”
SWIFT courses include topics like job safety awareness, bullying prevention, proactive driving, and mental health and well-being. Many courses are aligned with the Alberta Education curriculum outcomes for the Career and Technology Studies (CTS) learning stream and are ‘industry recognized’ meaning youth are able to get a head start on their career training.
Given the disproportionate on-the-job injury rate of young workers, plus the fact mental health disorders in youth are the second highest hospital care expenditure in Canada, it’s a partnership that truly is a win-win-win scenario for SWIFT Learning, Woods’ Homes and, most importantly, local youth.
“Our ongoing collaboration with SWIFT Learning ensures our clients continue to have access to safety and life skills training,” said Dean Soenen, Program Director at Wood’s Homes. “Our holistic approach to working with multi-barriered youth is well-supported by the broad range of courses SWIFT Learning offers.”
